“ A 5 out of 5 for this restaurant in downtown Bourges. Passing through for the day and looking for a last-minute place to eat, we chose "Chez Popote" and we weren't disappointed. The warm welcome, the pleasant service, and the generous and delicious dishes completely satisfied us. If we have the chance, we'll gladly return . “ Really very good, we went there for lunch and had a very generous meal. If you order a main course, be aware that otherwise, ask for a plate. They also have vegetarian options. Everyone was very pleasant and we received a warm welcome. ”

“ A real treat. The authenticity of the decor, the food served, the service, the music playing, everything is thought out with respect for the flavors of yesteryear. Lunch menu, a sketched parsnip velouté, a tasty and generous blanquette, and a very gourmet pear Belle Hélène. All for 21 euros. A real delight. And quality service. Too bad we're only passing through Bourges otherwise it would become a regular restaurant. ”

“ I was visiting Bourges for four days, and out of four lunches, I ate at Chez Popote twice! Needless to say, I really enjoyed it! Their food is delicious and generous; you feel right at home thanks to the friendly atmosphere. Everyone serving is smiling and very pleasant I have a sweet tooth, so I have to mention their chocolate mousse and their rice pudding , but everything is delicious!! There's so much more to say, so I'll let you discover it for yourselves. Go without hesitation, and remember to book ahead ”

“ A French gastronomic restaurant with a focus on traditional home cooking. The decor is tasteful, the service efficient (a little too efficient, as we received our appetizers before our aperitifs!), and the food is well-presented and flavorful, however, there were a few technical shortcomings. We ordered the aligot, which was grainy and too runny, and the roasted pineapple dessert wasn't "roasted" as it lacked caramelization. It's a shame, because it would have been very nice to be completely satisfied with this restaurant. The children's menu is good value for money! Please note that my review is based solely on the daily special. ”

The pot-au-feu, served in a generous dish, is a pure delight: tender meat, savory broth, everything is perfectly mastered. And what about the French toast for dessert? A true return to childhood... We found what we came for: delicious home-cooked food and a friendly atmosphere. A place to recommend without hesitation! ”
